This spring, we moved into a storybook mid-century home which meant I could finally go wild on a room for Zola. Thus began a months-long dive into the world of wallpaper, and what a delicious world I found it to be. I love how much wallpaper changes the feeling of a room with so much character and texture that it does the heavy lifting for the energy and feeling of a space. For a baby’s room, I love the cottagecore aesthetic– and within the framework of our new storybook home, I wanted to bring in the botanicals and wet mossiness of an English garden. Many of my picks are chosen with this sort of cozy, charming, nature-inspired vision in mind – creating an immersive environment filled with tranquility and whimsy.
Of course all of the best wallpapers I found are in the UK– Tess Newall and Living Quarters being two of my favorites.

This genre of wallpaper has considerably less options, but here are my faves. Flat Vernacular, North and Finch, Loomwell, and Chasing Paper had the best that I could find. The defacto recommendations were Wallshoppe and Rifle Paper–the former generally had a bit too much punch for my taste, and the latter felt reminiscent of wrapping paper– a bit two dimensional.
